A Level Chemistry Revision (Year 13) "Chemical tests to distinguish between Aldehydes and Ketones"
Переглядів 3,6 тис.Місяць тому

A Level Chemistry Revision (Year 13) "Identifying Aldehydes and Ketones using 2,4-DNP"
Переглядів 1,5 тис.Місяць тому
In this video, we look at how to identify aldehydes and ketones using the chemical 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNP). First we look at how this chemical can be used to show the presence of an aldehyde or ketone. We then explore how to use 2,4-DNP to identify which specific aldehyde or ketone is present.

hi sir, why am i not able to see exam questions in your site for each topic??
The exam boards do not permit the use of exam questions in UA-cam videos. So I don't use them.
my gcse exams are very soon and i am depending on you to save me sir. Wish me luck.
Good luck. I hope you get the grades that you want.
Hi Sean, just wondering if this/all your videos are up to the current spec? (just being extra careful as I'm revising!)
Yes they are all up to date.
in an exam does it tell you wether to put the answer in mol/dm^3 or g /dm^3
It will tell you in the question.
Why is there half an oxygen in the equation to form water?
Water only contains one oxygen atom. This oxygen comes from the air that we breathe in (ie O2).
my GCSEs were years ago now, but I came across your channel again today. thanks to your videos I got three As in triple science, during some health problems that left me barely able to attend school at all. I couldn't do A levels, but you really sparked a love for science and I'm starting a degree in my mid 20s now. thanks so much for all you do for students today too.
Thank you for your comment, which I appreciate. I'm glad that my videos helped you when you needed it. I wish you all the best for your degree.
Do aqa higher triple students need to know the process of binary fission? Thanks
The videos are based on the AQA spec so anything that is in the videos, you need to know (triple students need all the videos).
@@Freesciencelessons In this video, the process isn’t describe. Does that mean I do not need to know it?
Can you do a video on oxidative phosphorylation for beginners? Your video is for people that already know
I would recommend watching all the videos in the topic on Respiration. That will put this video into context and make it easier to understand.
@Freesciencelessons could you put a link to these. You have so many videos I couldn't find the ones you mentioned
ua-cam.com/play/PL9IouNCPbCxUgTNdXJ1IeWYJrhNKtAtin.html
2:12 isn’t it just if group 7 element is present then oxygen won’t be produced ????
No because that does not tell you what will be produced.
3:56 please someone tell me why br negative ion loses electrons ,
The ion Br- has eight electrons in its outer shell. The anode is positive and can take one of those electrons. This forms the atom Br which has seven electrons in its outer shell. Two Br atoms can form a covalent bond, sharing a pair of outer electrons and becoming stable. So because it can lose one electron and form a stable covalent molecule, that is what happens to Br- during electrolysis.
Hello sir can you explain what is the difference between precision and accuracy is
Accuracy is how close a value is to the true value. Precision is how close together the repeats are.
Is this the same as using a metal block?
Yes. It's effectively the same experiment whether you use a metal block or a beaker of oil.
what if you get a question on the elements in the middle of the periodic table that don't have a group (transition metals) because then you don't know how many electrons it needs
They'll give you enough information to work it out, for example they could tell you the ion and you can use that to work out the number of electrons eg Fe2+ (which you work out needs two electrons).
sir, why are you uploading the same topic multiple times? I have seen the older video on metals and alloys and i dont understand why you have made a new one.
Hi. I'm gradually redoing all of the GCSE videos. This is to improve both the graphics and the sound. The content will not be changing.
@@Freesciencelessonsoh ok. btw thank you for replying.
No problem.
Hi Sir, Apologies if you've responded elsewhere concerning this already, but will you ever be making A-level Physics videos?
I'm afraid that I've never taught A level Physics so I don't think I would do a good job.
Hi freesciencelessons. Wil all the videos from Biology Paper 1 to Physics Paper 2 labelled "For Exams 2024 + 2025" be accessible for those sitting the exams in 2025?
Yes. The reason I labelled these videos like that is because the spec has not changed and will not change before 2025.
@@Freesciencelessons Sorry to bother you again sir but is the spec still the same for 2025 exams? So that way I know I can watch your videos
Yes the spec is still the same for 2025.
Does anyone know why germinated mustard seeds are used?
They grow very rapidly.
4:18 please someone tell me how u find the mr of AI2(SO4)3
There are two aluminium atoms, each with an Ar of 27. There are three sulfur atoms, each with an Ar of 32. There are 12 oxygen atoms, each with an Ar of 16. Add all of that together to get 342.
Thank you so much, Sir!!!
Thank you for the comment. I'm glad that you found the video useful.
I got lost when we started talking about the dominant alleles.... how do you know which one is the dominant one
The question will give you information to work it out, or it will simply tell you.
Do we have to learn conduction, convection and radiation for aqa physics gcse in 2024? Not sure if that removed it from the spec?
Conduction and convection are no longer on the physics spec.
What sort of question would this look like on the Physics paper?
Not sure if this is wrong but at 3:20 and further on, he says that a PH of 3 has 100x more H+ ions however it is a higher PH and Acids are lower PH so surely it's not?
Not trying to be annoying just confused
No I say that a pH of 1 has 100x the concentration of H+ than a pH of 3.
Thanks
i do not understand the part about surges
A "surge" means a wave of high pressure blood passing down the artery.
Learning while schools is conducting online classes 'cause schools in the Philippines is asynchronous because of the heat index. It's 45° here bruh
Whats happened to Shaun all of a sudden in this playlist. Fun way to keep us entertained!
what's the difference between antiBODIES and antiGENS
Antigens are identified by the body as foreign eg viruses, bacteria etc. Antibodies are proteins made by B cells. Antibodies stick to specific antigens. This targets the antigen for destruction.
Do we need to know sclereids for the exam
Do we need to know that the vascular bundle is called the stele for the exam?
What’s the difference between transmission along a myelinated axon and non myelinated axon
thank you so much! explained the topic so well I wasn't getting it in class lol! Currently watching all the electricity videos 😅
Stop looking in comments
Would you ever not remove anomalous results such as in RP:9 Sampling Organisms
Thank you so much sir these really gave me a hard time but you explained them so well in only a few minutes
The video is like 4 minutes long but i did over 2 pages of notes help. Love your videos, your the reason im not failing my sciences bro
You didn’t speak about the stages name of the cell cycle eg cytokinesis etc do we need to know that ?
HE GOT DA SUIT DRIP
Hello sir, i see there is one unavailable video hidden in the structure and bonding playlist, i was wondering if its a video that we need for the topic. I cant thank you enough for all the dedication put forward to helping us all pass our gcse science
who here knows that their teachers are terrible so rely on dis guy?
Thank you so much freesciencelessons, you have helped me and so many other students in our studies, you are the best teacher I know!
goateddddd
bro is a godsend
Im no genius but would it not be 30x5=150J, at 2:47 Im kinda confused
Q is the charge flow, which is stated as 3C.
brody I don't understand
Please note that 0.5m x 0.5m is 0.25m squared not 2.5m
That's correct but in the equation, we then multiply by 10, giving us 2.5 m^2
literally saving my gcses... i went from a U to a 6-6 and now working at 8s
sir someone of you videos say triple on it but its on past gcse papers on foundation
2024 mocks tmr
Danko
